About Barnaby
Hello, I'm 23 so still fresh out of the academic life, able to appreciate and relate to the workload and struggles of the budding student.
I am very passionate about natural sciences, they are art forms explaining the inner workings of our universe and everything it contains. The beauty of maths is often lost in academia, so I try and ignite the passion within students with real world examples of the techniques they are expected to know without context.
My own learning style is very visual and I enjoy teaching this way too, as seeing is often believing when it comes to understanding. I employ the use of short GIFS/videos, diagrams, and analogies to explain concepts so that a student can fully visualise them in whatever way works for them.
It is so crucial to fully understand a system before you are expected to take an examination on it, knowledge actually stays this way, and then the student feels confident in their own abilities which provides them with the motivation to want to continue studying.
I hope I have emphasised enough how learning should be fun and engaging, and taught for the benefit of the students own understanding. When there is real motivation their natural intelligence is able to flourish, and shown with excitement for learning, as well as those ever important high test scores.
