About Kyrie
Hello!
My name is Kyrie O'Shea- Ramirez. I am 27 years old.
I love taking the time before every lesson to talk with students about how they are feeling, or how their day went. I believe having a connection is key to teaching. I enjoy brining up stories about my dog or cat and how they made me laugh that day.
I myself struggled as a reader, and am currently learning a new language. I take into account these experiences with students of how difficult it might feel at times, or how to harp on what are their strong points.
My goal is that students feel confident in their abilities after leaving my sessions, and can carry this into their everyday life.

I am OG certified, and have a vast knowledge of SOR. I believe every student learns different and modify as needed to meet their needs.
A general layout for my lesson is to start off with a quick warmup of phonemic awareness. We then review previous taught skills. After that we will learn a new skill and practice applying it over a period of time through reading, writing, games, etc.
I always make sure I take time to talk with my students, and create a connection with them. I take time in my lesson to help boost them up, and give them the confidence they need to master skills needed to read and write at grade level.
I have worked with children from PK-8th grade. I love working with children in this age rage because they are still working on being shaped into strong and successful adults, and I want to help in that process.
