My teaching methods are flexible and tailored to suit each student’s individual needs. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of students and, as a student myself, I have developed various revision and teaching techniques that have proven successful with previous learners. I currently teach GCSE Science and Maths. For GCSE students, I focus on mastering the required content through detailed explanations and extensive past-paper practice. I also introduce a variety of methods so that students can identify and use the approaches they find most effective. With AS and A-level students, I emphasise learning and recalling the information required by the specification. A-level examinations are highly specific and require students to understand concepts in considerable detail in order to answer questions successfully. Once the key concepts have been understood, I focus on applying this knowledge through regular exam-question practice. This ensures that students are prepared for a wide range of questions, from straightforward topics that are often overlooked to more challenging questions that can help them reach the higher grade boundaries. I also encourage independent learning by setting homework, which I expect students to complete in order to support their progress and help them achieve their desired grades. This approach applies to both GCSE and A-level students. To ensure that lessons are focused and relevant, I ask students to bring their subject specification and a suitable revision guide or textbook, as different exam boards cover slightly different content. This allows each student to arrive prepared and ready to learn. I aim to build positive relationships with my students so that they feel comfortable discussing any concerns, sharing their preferences, and asking questions. I encourage every student to work consistently and complete tasks to the best of their ability.
