About Matthew
I have recently moved to London to pursue a masters in Environment, Politics and Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Geography remained my favourite subject throughout school and subsequently I have excelled in the discipline academically obtaining a First-Class degree in Geography and International Development at the University of East Anglia. My academic expertise is geared towards natural-resource management, biodiversity conservation environmental politics, and environmental and social justice.
My A-levels included Geography, Psychology, Biology and Music. I completed my IGSCE’s whilst living in Bahrain achieving 4A*s, 2 As and 2 Bs. I have also worked in Kenya for an organisation supporting refugee education and have experience working on biodiversity conservation projects with the United Nations, the Government of Seychelles and a local Seychellois NGO. I believe such experience and my academic training makes me a strong tutor as I can easily make analogies to explain complex geographic theories, based on ‘real world’ experience.
I believe my hard work ethic and academic proficiency in Geography should put me in a good position to help and inspire students to achieve top exam results and perhaps pursue geography further.
