About Samuel
I am currently working as a cyber security analyst at Canadian National Railway (CN), and have 5 years of experience in the cyber security industry.
I have been a teaching assistant for the McGill University SCS Certificate in Cyber Security Program ((concealed information)
I have also volunteered at Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre, teaching young children how to write computer programs.
I am a passionate cyber security professional, and look forward to helping you with cyber security journey using technique I developed while pursuing my own certifications including:

Having completed many certifications myself (OSCP,Security+, GXPN), I know how overwhelming the content can be.
I am a big fan of question based learning and recall. When done correctly, you will almost certainly succeed.
IT certifications (and IT industries as a whole) contain a large amount of terms and acronyms. It's essential that you know these in order to be successful. We will:
- Use spaced repetition techniques to memorize terms and acronyms
- Categorize the term (Is it related to email security? Network Security?), and associate it with topics from broad to specific to help work out it's definition if you forget.
- Compare and contrast different terms
- Identify the problem and solution. Security is a set of problems and solutions, is this a problem (weakness), what is it's solution? Does that solution have problems itself due to factors such as potential for insecure implementation or outdated security?
For more practical certifications such as OSCP we will:
- Analyze and critique your workflow.
- Help you avoid rabbit holes.
- Work through problems together.
- Recap with lessons learned.
