About Georgina
I have over 100 hours of experience as a private tutor, mainly across the subject of Music. As a graduate of Oxford, I feel particularly confident in preparing students for Oxbridge entrance (submissions and interview).
I achieved distinctions in all of my violoncello grades at a young age, and have had lessons and masterclasses with some of the world's most renowned solo and chamber musicians, including members of the London Haydn String Quartet, and Yo Yo Ma. I performed for 3 years with the National Youth Orchestra, in which I took rehearsals as a string leader, and as part of outreach programmes. As a tutor, I have successfully prepared students for ABRSM exams, including a student achieving Distinction in their Grade 8 piano exam.
I have a strong understanding not only of the practical aspects of musicianship, but also the theory, and how best to teach it. I achieved high results at all stages of my academic life, and aim to help your child do so to! I am comfortable teaching GCSE level Spanish, English (lang. & lit.), Maths, and Music, which I teach also at A-level. I am able to help your child prepare for any performance examinations, having played in the National Youth Orchestra, and taught piano and cello to grade-8 standard. With my Oxford experience, I am also able to help prepare your child for an Oxbridge application, by aiding with their personal statement, and informing them and you of how the interview and application process is best approached.
