About Lia
As a current undergraduate student at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, I have extensive experience as a performer and collaborative musician. I am a member of the Stamps Woodwind Quintet, a chamber group that performs multiple recital programs per year and is fully funded by a 4-year scholarship. I also recently attended Round Top Music Festival where I worked with world-class faculty and performed with the Texas Festival Orchestra. In previous summers I have attended the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute at the Kennedy Center and Greenwood Music Camp in Western MA. As a performer, I grew up in the Boston Area surrounded and mentored by world-class classical musicians. My experience as a collaborative musician in ensembles is extensive, with 5+ years of orchestral playing experience. My most influential teachers and mentors have been Dr. Jennifer Grim, Judy Grant, and Christina Jennings.

As a teacher, I believe strong flute playing fundamentals are key to musical growth. My lessons balance technical work with personalized repertoire for all levels, supported by my background in Music Theory and Musicology from the University of Miami. With lots of experience in classical orchestral and chamber playing, my goal is to give flutists of all levels the tools that will help support their musical journey!
