Lis has been consistently empathetic and supportive over the nine years I've been learning with her. Currently helping me prepare for Dip ABRSM, she shares from her wealth of experience of playing, teaching and musical research, helping so much with tone, style/performance, practical techniques and more. She is enthusiastic and a lesson always turns out to be worthwhile even on days when I arrive wishing I had practised more.

Lis is a very inspirational and encouraging teacher of the flute. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in both performance and teaching. Lis relates well to people of all ages and levels, tailoring lessons to suit the individual from the beginner up to diploma level.

I have been learning the flute for just over 3 years with Lis. I am a music teacher myself so it has been great to compare notes! With Lis I have progressed very fast, achieving grade 5 in 2 years, and covering lots of other repertoire too. Lis encourages group work, duets and trios etc, to make it more fun.

I have been learning with Lis for around 3 years and find her a to be a capable and knowledgeable teacher. She has consistently encouraged me to push myself in my practical ability and her extensive academic knowledge has given me a richer understanding of the flute. I have had lessons with Lis for three years now. I had some previous experience on the flute but Lis has been instrumental in improving my tone, technique, and musical performance. She was aware I had confidence issues and has provided opportunities to build up gradually in a comfortable manner to the point where I have taken part in small concerts and achieved distinctions in my grade 6, 7 and 8 exams.
