About Francesca
I'm Francesca, lovely to meet you! Having taught secondary school students, I am all too aware of the differing opinions about Geography. You may think it's irrelevant or you may think it's the best subject. Whichever one you are, I'm here to help you better understand it and, hopefully, share my enthusiasm with you.
Geography is such an interesting and diverse subject that encompasses different parts of our lives, from our everyday weather to the clothes we wear. Whatever the topic, I will help you build your understanding of Geographical vocabulary and concepts so you can use them more confidently when describing and explaining your thoughts in response to Geographical questions.

As an ex-Geography teacher, I taught 8 Geography KS3 classes and co-taught a Year 10 Geography class. Formative assessment strategies are regularly embedded in my lessons, allowing me to receive constant feedback about my students' progress and tailor my teaching accordingly.
My overall focus when teaching a student is developing sustainability in their Geography learning: that means instilling enthusiasm and learning practices to help them succeed in Geography outside the classroom.
As a passionate Geographer, I believe it is important to empower students with 'Powerful Geographical Knowledge'--knowledge that allows them to envision alternative futures and to autonomously engage in today's dynamic and globalised world.
