About Alex
I'm a 1st year maths and computer science PhD student at the University of Edinburgh who has always had a deep fascination with the beauty and utility of maths. Check out my Youtube and TikTok channels where I like to discuss maths topics which I think are cool.
I always give clear, engaging explanations and have lots of patience as a teacher - learning new maths is tough but so rewarding! I'm also not some "maths genius" that can't understand why you "don't get it". I've spent a lot of time learning concepts and how to explain them properly - I just want to share them with you and will always be a patient tutor!

I always teach maths by way of tonnes of examples, with a deep focus on building a strong base of intuition for the topic. I really love teaching maths, and try to help you enjoy/appreciate it as much as possible too! Lessons are usually 1 hour, however, I am flexible and happy to teach for longer!
Qualifications: 7 As at Higher, 3 As at Advanced Higher and a 1st Class Honours Masters Degree in Mathematics from University of Edinburgh
Experience: 5+ years of teaching Nat 5, Higher and Advanced Higher maths in person/online. Also have been a summer camp leader for kids in previous summers. I have taught students aged 7 to 17. I'm very happy to craft a lesson to whatever skill level is required :)
