About Donté
Hi! I’m a passionate Mathematics tutor who is currently studying to become a qualified Mathematics teacher.
I didn’t always love Mathematics. In fact, I wasn’t a big fan of the subject when I was younger. However, when I reached Grade 10, I had a great teacher who helped me see Mathematics differently, and that’s when I really fell in love with the subject.
During high school, I often helped my friends with Mathematics, and one of the things I enjoyed most was seeing their marks improve. Seeing someone go from around 30% to over 60% showed me how much of a difference the right support and explanation can make.
I was also fortunate enough to come first in Technical Mathematics in both Grade 11 and Grade 12 at Port Rex Technical High School.
As a tutor, I am fun, patient, understanding and willing to do everything I can to help you succeed. I want to create a comfortable environment where you can ask questions without being afraid of getting something wrong. My goal is to help you pass, improve your marks and, hopefully, enjoy Mathematics a little more along the way!

My lessons are designed to make Mathematics easier, less stressful and more enjoyable. I believe every learner can improve when they are given the right explanation, enough practice and a teacher who is patient with them.
I don't just give you answers. I explain each step clearly and make sure you understand why we are doing it. We will focus on the areas you struggle with, work at your own pace and practise questions together until you feel more confident.
I also try to make my lessons fun and interactive rather than simply sitting and listening to someone explain Maths. Whether you need help understanding the basics, preparing for a test or improving your marks, I will adapt the lessons to suit your needs.
My goal is to help you not only get better marks, but also feel more confident when doing Mathematics on your own.
