About
I have been passionate about philosophy and politics since I was a teenager which led me to study both subjects at A-level, then my BA and MA.
As part of my MA I completed a module on teaching where I helped facilitate discussion in seminars and planned and presented a lecture for one of the weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience learning a lot from different students' perspectives while working with a diverse group of students.
My specialisations are in critical theory, cultural theory, Post-Enlightenment philosophy and German Idealism. However I have also studied Politics, History and Media Studies at various points in my education as well as having a personal interest in these subjects.
Outside of philosophy I have worked for the civil service, specifically working with young people and supporting them. I feel this has helped me in terms of establishing strong communication skills and mutual respect in a professional setting.

I believe in meeting individuals where they are at in their academic journey, talking through their understandings of concepts and identifying where they are struggling without judgement. Lessons would include discussion of concepts, close reading of texts, practice exam questions and essay planning. My hope would be to establish a good tutoring relationship where rapport is built on trust and mutual respect, helping me to provide tangible results for students.
