About Amena

I have recently finished my A levels and would be studying Biochemistry at King's College London. I'm incredibly passionate about science because of its diversity and the impact it has on all of us, and I always aim to channel this passion into my tutoring. Also, I love having the opportunity to guide students to achieve their potential. I believe it's very important to build rapport with my students- finding common interests in order to have a friendly and calm atmosphere. I tailor my lesson according to the needs of my students; whether they need help with understanding the content or exam techniques in order to maximise their learning and understanding. Also, I make lesson plans according to the type of learner they are, for example- I would make diagrams or flow charts if they are visual learners. Sometimes learning by yourself can be hard and difficult but with the help of someone else it can become much more fulfilling and enjoyable and I hope to be the person who makes that happen. About the lesson

When teaching, I like to establish a friendly atmosphere by building rapport with students. I help students with homework assignments, exam revision, and identifying and improving weak subject knowledge. I find visual learning methods such as diagrams, videos, and interactive activities to be most effective when teaching. Additionally, I use quizzes, flashcards, and mini-tests to engage students and help them retain previous knowledge. I conduct tests every two weeks to ensure that students are revising their prior knowledge.
