About Janice

I have been playing tennis since middle school, and the sport has been a huge part of my life ever since. I continued my tennis career at Spokane Community College, where I competed at the collegiate level. During my freshman year, my team won a championship, and during my sophomore year, we finished as close runners-up.

After completing my college tennis career, I began coaching and discovered how much I enjoy helping others develop their skills and confidence on the court. I have now been coaching tennis for almost three years, working primarily with elementary and middle school players.

With my experience as both a competitive player and a coach, I understand the game from both sides of the court. I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where players feel comfortable learning, making mistakes, and challenging themselves.

My coaching approach is focused on making tennis fun, encouraging, and easy to understand while helping each player develop strong fundamentals. I believe players learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and challenging themselves. I adjust my teaching style based on each player’s age, experience, goals, and learning style.

What sets me apart is my experience working with young players and my focus on building confidence alongside tennis ability. I want players to leave each lesson feeling like they learned something new and are excited to come back and improve. I also understand that every player develops differently, so I strive to make lessons personalized rather than using the exact same approach for everyone. Even though I have only worked with youth, I would love the opportunity to start working with adults as well.
