About Maria
I am an IBDP graduate who took, amongst others, Maths (with option in statistics) and Physics (with option in astrophysics) Higher Level and excelled in both with 7/7. I wish to not only pass my knowledge and help students achieve good grades but also motivate and encourage them to focus on their goals and work hard towards fulfilling them.

My teaching strategy focuses on each individual's needs. I wish to identify the ideal teaching methods that will assist in the most effective and fastest result. I usually start by introducing the specific topic and refering to its components, its usefulness in real life and its correlation to other topics. For physics I, then, explain the topic using illustrations and real life examples, where applicable, and then I introduce and solve in detail past exam questions. For mathematics, I explain the topic giving very simple examples so that the student will understand how to apply the formula when how to identify where it is applicable, and continue by, once again, solving past papers. In the end, I always refer to mistakes students usually make and give tips on how to avoid them.
The primary focus is topics of mathematics at a high school level (calculus, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, statistics) but I can teach from elementary to university level, if requested. For IB students, I can also teach Theatre Arts (HL), Spanish Ab Initio, and English Language and Literature (SL) and give specific feedback on personal IAs, again after specific request.
