About Tim

An Imperial College London Graduate with a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status from University College London, and professional Tutor for the past 5 years. I am an enthusiastic person who brings a very positive energy to learning Maths and Science with over 2000 hours experience. I specialise in being flexible in my teaching style in order to build confidence in the students I teach by adapting my teaching style to best suit their strengths and needs.

I'm also a very active person outside of academia, very interested in travel and exploration. Having participated in several expeditions to the Arctic and expeditions to discover new cave passages in a remote cave system in Slovenia, living out of a rucksack for up to six weeks at a time, I have gained skills and experiences which are relatively unique.

I spent the last year undertaking post-graduate teacher training at UCL to develop my tutoring further. During this time, I maintained a consistent level of individual tuition, so I am currently up to speed with the school learning environment, the ins and outs of the different school syllabuses and the current pedagogical theories of teaching and learning.

I will be only be available to tutor via Skype this year. However I have a computer set-up which allows me to conveniently interact using a tablet to show hand written notes in real time whilst also allowing me to provide useful colour coordinated notes at the end of each lesson. There is no need for a video feed from the students end, although a smart phone is useful to send photos of problems or workings.

Perfect! Best Skype tutor ever

Perfect! Would definitely recommend Tim.

Tim is simply amazing. My son has literally moved from a C/D at A level maths prediction to an A/ A* that he is expected to achieve this June. Tim understands that some students do not always find certain aspects of maths obvious but works hard to quickly identify their weakness and turn that into their strength. Whatever your child's ability, Tim knows the right approach. He is a brilliant mathematician himself studying physics at
Imperial College, London and is enthusiastic about the subject. He is very likeable; he is not your typical maths geek and I think that, this in particular, will make it easier for your son or daughter to connect with him. I really like how he works through the maths problems with you and
points out a way to get them right. He is both encouraging and engaging and helps your son and daughter build up confidence in maths. Tim has a lovely manner and is a good teacher for both boys and girls of all ages and all abilities. I can't thank Tim enough. I would recommend that you get him on board as soon as you can as the maths tutor for your child because he will get you the results that you need.
