About Nikhil

Hi, I'm Nikhil, a very passionate mathematician who enjoys playing basketball and chess in my free time. I have taught maths at my local Kumon centre and regularly devoted time in sixth form to tutor GCSE level.
I achieved a 9 in maths at GCSE and obtained 4 A* at A level, including maths and further maths.
Hi, I'm a fourth year mathematician at Warwick University currently studying for an MMath with an interactive and thorough personalised teaching course; focussed strongly on understanding over memorisation. As someone who is very much obsessed with mathematics, I always take great pride in teaching others the beauty that this subject holds!

About my sessions

As an online tutor, I’ve been teaching KS3, GCSE and A-Level Maths and Science since 2022. I structure each lesson around the student’s individual needs and goals, starting with an assessment of their current level. From there, I create a personalised learning plan with clear, achievable milestones.

Each session is interactive and carefully paced, using tailored examples, visual aids, and targeted practice to reinforce key concepts. I prepare thoroughly before each lesson to ensure materials are relevant, challenging, and aligned with exam specifications.

I focus on helping students gain both knowledge and confidence. I set short-term goals to keep motivation high and long-term targets to guide overall progress. I regularly measure progress through mini-assessments, feedback, and tracking improvements over time.

I create a supportive, patient environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe celebrating progress, however small, and building strong understanding step-by-step is key to long-term success.

About the lesson

I have an interactive and thorough personalised teaching course; focussed strongly on understanding over memorisation. This will allow you to feel confident during exams (as it has done for me) and maybe even help you find your own passion!
I am patient and celebrate mistakes during my lessons, I have found this to be the most effective way to make progress.
My typical lesson length is 1 hour, although more than happy to extend if necessary.
