About Gary
Not only have I drawn and painted for over forty years for various functions, such as creating and drawing a comic strip that appeared in almost a dozen Alaska newspapers, but I have also created advertising art for local Minnesota Applebee’s restaurants and created an award-winning logo for a jewelry company that made earrings out of fishing lures. In addition, I also earned the distinction of becoming a selected top ten artist in the 2026 People’s Artist competition presented by Johnny Depp featuring my oil pastel paintings and pencil drawings. In addition to being an artist, I have training as a counselor so I have the added benefit of understanding how art benefits mental health.
