About Cecilia

What I love most about teaching is discovering what makes each learner unique. I believe that academic difficulties do not mean a child is incapable of learning. Sometimes, they simply need concepts presented in a different way, additional encouragement, or a safe environment where they can learn without fear of getting things wrong.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking and being with my loved ones. I believe that having a balanced and positive outlook is important, and I bring that same warmth and enthusiasm into my teaching.

I look forward to getting to know you and helping your child enjoy learning and reach their full potential!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred around one simple belief: every learner can learn when they are taught in a way that works for them.

I have a teaching degree and more than 10 years of experience teaching in schools and private tutoring.

I offer personalised lessons for learners from Grade R to Grade 9, covering all school-based subjects, with a particular passion for remedial support, psychology and working with children who have special educational needs.

I focus not only on completing schoolwork, but on helping learners understand the work and develop the confidence to tackle challenges independently.

I am able to teach in English and Afrikaans and can adapt my communication to suit the learner's level of understanding.

Progress is celebrated step-by-step, because building confidence is just as important as improving academic results.

Cecilia is an incredibly patient, caring and dedicated teacher. Her experience and genuine passion for helping children learn really shine through in the way she teaches.

She has a wonderful ability to make learners feel comfortable and confident, especially when they are struggling or feeling anxious about their schoolwork. Cecilia takes the time to understand each learner as an individual and explains concepts in a clear, encouraging and engaging way.

What stands out most is her belief in her students. She celebrates their progress, encourages them to keep trying and helps them recognise their own abilities. I would highly recommend Cecilia to any parent looking for a professional, compassionate and experienced tutor who truly cares about the success and wellbeing of her learners.
