About Alphonso
As a graduate of Stetson University, I learned how to create beautiful, melodic, and pleasing sounds of the Clarinet. While playing with my main instructor Lynn Musco, there was nothing better than listening to her sweet, warm style of playing that inspired me to learn from her.
Since that time, I've played with highly respected ensembles such as the Austin Symphonic Band and Band of the Hills. I have been able to be in scenarios where I can not only showcase my experience in this art but also impart and grow members around me. Playing for 20 years has taught me things such as expression, discipline, focus, and multi-tasking. I want to pass along these traits to beginners and intermediate level students.

From beginners to intermediate level, I use the Kodály Method, repetitive exercises, strengthening fundamentals. I emphasize the importance of fundamentals such as long tones, finger exercises, scales, intervals, and arpeggios.
I would bring in the patience and time needed to build a correct and sound foundation to clarinet playing.
