About Emma
Hi, I’m Emma Josephine Rashkovich, a Cornell University student pursuing a B.A. in Applied Economics with minors in Fashion Studies and Business Management. With a strong academic foundation and years of experience working with younger students, I bring both passion and professionalism to every tutoring session. As someone who has consistently balanced rigorous academics with leadership roles, creative projects, and community service, I know how to connect with students of all learning styles. I’ve spent years peer tutoring elementary and middle school students, helping them overcome math challenges with patience, clarity, and encouragement. My method is personalized, interactive, and always centered on building a student’s confidence—not just their grades. What sets me apart is my ability to make students feel seen, capable, and motivated. I’m fluent in English and Russian, and conversational in Hebrew, allowing me to communicate effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. I also draw from my wide range of extracurricular experiences—from Model UN and Civic Spirit to fashion design and varsity sports in high school—to create relatable, real-world examples that make math come alive. Whether your child is struggling with multiplication or gearing up for pre-algebra, I’m here to help them build a strong, lasting foundation—and actually enjoy the process.

Hi, I’m Emma — a college economics major at Cornell University with a passion for helping young learners succeed.
My Teaching Approach:
I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to fit each individual. I focus on building a strong foundation by breaking down complex math concepts into simple, relatable steps. I use visual aids, real-life examples, and hands-on practice to make lessons more engaging. I also emphasize a positive and patient learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes—that’s where real learning happens!
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Each session begins with a quick review of previous material to reinforce retention. We then move into the day’s topic, which I introduce with examples and guided practice. I follow that with interactive problem-solving, where the student takes the lead while I support and correct as needed. We end with a brief summary and a few fun “challenge” problems to keep things interesting and build confidence.
What Sets Me Apart:
As a college student actively studying Economics, I bring a fresh, relatable perspective to the subject of math. I understand what it’s like to feel stuck, and I know how to explain things in a way that makes sense to younger students. I'm approachable, encouraging, and I genuinely care about my students’ progress—not just in grades, but in how they feel about math.
Who My Lessons Are For:
I offer tutoring for elementary and middle school students—whether they need help with homework, are preparing for tests, or just want to get ahead. I work with students at all levels, including those with math anxiety or learning challenges, and tailor my lessons to their unique needs and pace.
Let’s build confidence and skills together—one step at a time!
