Hello! I am a dedicated, master’s-level educator specializing in individualized academic support and foundational skill-building for elementary students (Grades K-5). Holding a Master of Science in Childhood Education alongside extensive graduate coursework in Special Education, my teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every child can thrive when given the right tools, patience, and tailored approach. Throughout my career as a K-5 certified classroom teacher and specialized co-teacher, I have worked extensively with diverse learning styles and neurodivergent students. I specialize in utilizing structured literacy and multisensory techniques, including principles of the Orton-Gillingham approach, to help struggling readers master phonics, decoding, and spelling. My background allows me to easily adapt complex elementary curricula for children who experience learning gaps, dyslexia, language processing differences, or focus challenges like ADHD.
When working 1-on-1, I use ongoing, informal observations to pinpoint exactly where a student’s gaps are, allowing me to differentiate my instruction rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I focus heavily on positive reinforcement and creating structured routines that make learning feel safe and predictable for young children. I view parents as essential partners in this process and look forward to collaborating with you to help your child build a strong academic foundation!
