About Emeka
Hi there! If you or your child are looking to take the stress out of math and actually start seeing top grades, you’ve come to the right place.
I am a dedicated high school student who just finished Grade 10 math, maintaining a 98% average heading into my finals. Because math has always been my strongest subject, I don't just understand the formulas—I understand the logic behind them. I know how to look at a dense textbook chapter and translate it into clear, simple steps that make sense to anyone.
I take my role as a tutor very seriously. I am highly organized, reliable, and completely focused on delivering results. However, because I am a peer, my lessons are entirely free of the typical classroom pressure. I know exactly how frustrating it can be when a teacher's explanation doesn't click, which is why I am incredibly patient and adapt my teaching style to match how you learn best.
Whether you are looking to build a strong foundation in elementary math, trying to stay ahead of the class in middle school, or prepping for tough Grade 9 and 10 high school exams, I am here to help you succeed. Let's work together to make math your favorite subject!

My Approach & Methodology
Hey there! I’m a high school student who just finished Grade 10 math, maintaining a 98% average heading into finals. Because math comes naturally to me and I've always found it straightforward, I know how to look at a complicated textbook problem and simplify it so it actually makes sense. Since I am fresh out of these exact classes, the exam formats, rubrics, and specific topics are incredibly clear in my mind.
My approach is completely peer-to-peer. I don't lecture like a strict classroom teacher. Instead, I focus on breaking down concepts into plain English and showing you the exact study habits and logical shortcuts I used to ace my own courses. I’m patient, laid-back, and want to help make math feel easy for you, too.
A Typical 1-Hour Lesson
Every student learns differently, so I keep my lessons flexible, but a standard session usually looks like this:
The First 5–10 Minutes: We check in on how school is going. You show me a homework problem, a quiz topic, or a concept you're stuck on so we know exactly what to target.
The Next 20–25 Minutes: We break the concept down. I’ll walk you through a problem step-by-step, explain why we do each step, and then have you try a similar one while I guide you.
The Next 20 Minutes: Practice and test-prep. We will tackle a few different variations of the problem (especially the "trick questions" teachers love to slip into exams) so you feel confident doing them alone.
The Last 5 Minutes: A quick wrap-up to review the main takeaways and make sure you feel ready for your next school day.
What Sets Me Apart
Most adult tutors haven't taken a high school math class in over a decade. They know the math, but they don't remember what current high school tests actually look like. Because I just finished the curriculum at the top of my class, I know how teachers structure their exams and what they look for when grading.
Since I understand the material so deeply, I’m great at finding alternative ways to explain a problem if the teacher's classroom explanation didn't click for you. Our sessions will be a comfortable, zero-judgment zone where we can target exactly what you need to get your grades up.
Who My Lessons Are For
I offer flexible math support tailored for:
Elementary and Middle School Students (Grades 1–8): Building up core skills, fractions, pre-algebra, and boosting overall confidence.
High School Students (Grades 9–10): Navigating the big jump into high school math. I can help you survive linear equations, polynomials, coordinate geometry, and analytic formulas.
Anyone who needs help catching up on homework, prepping for a big unit test, or just wants to stay ahead of the class.
