Angela taught me Korean so I could speak with my Korean boyfriend's mom. His mom doesn't speak English, so it helped a lot that I knew basic phrases. Over about six months, I definitely improved a lot, and I was able to actually have conversations with her. It's truly amazing to be able to have conversations with someone you care about just by studying for a couple hours every week. I also put in some work (doing homework, studying a bit on my own), so that also helped. Angela was so patient and generous - she made things stick to my memory, and made learning fun. I highly recommend her.
