About Ofer

I am a maths tutor with a BA in Mathematics and experience tutoring students at different levels, including KS3, GCSE, A-level and adult learners.

My teaching style is patient, calm and non-judgemental. I enjoy helping students who feel stuck, anxious or lacking in confidence with maths, and I explain topics step by step using clear examples and plenty of practice.

I am especially interested in supporting learners with maths anxiety, confidence gaps, or dyscalculia-related difficulties.

I aim to make maths feel less frightening and more approachable, while helping each student build real understanding at their own pace.

About the lesson

I offer patient, supportive maths lessons for KS3, GCSE, A-level and adult learners, either in person in Islington/Hackney or online.

I have a BA in Mathematics and experience tutoring students at different levels. I combine strong subject knowledge with a patient, step-by-step teaching style.

My teaching style is calm, clear and non-judgemental. I believe many pupils struggle with maths not because they “can’t do it”, but because they have missed a step somewhere, lost confidence, or been rushed through topics before they were ready.

In lessons, we work slowly and carefully through examples until the method becomes clear. I listen closely to where the difficulty is, then explain the idea in different ways using worked examples, visual methods and plenty of practice.

A typical lesson starts by identifying the student’s goals and the areas they find difficult. We then build from there with clear explanations and guided practice.

Questions are encouraged, and mistakes are part of the learning process.

After each lesson, I can provide the student with useful resources, such as:

the exercises we worked on
exercises to practise before the next lesson
notes or documents covering the key foundations
further online resources

Students are welcome to message me between lessons to ask for clarification on exercises or material we have covered.

I aim to help students learn at a relaxed pace, adapted to their needs, and to understand why each method works — so maths becomes less frightening and more approachable.

Lessons are available online or in person in Islington and Hackney.
