About Madeline
With 5 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Musicology (Piano History), I help students unlock the expressive power of jazz piano. My lessons focus on improvisation, comping, and expanding harmonic vocabulary, while integrating theory, ear training, and transcription.
Students practise improvising solos, comping for ensembles, and navigating complex chord progressions. Rhythmic precision, transcription work, and harmonic analysis are key parts of every lesson. My approach balances technique, creativity, and musical intuition.
I have guided learners from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate, as well as professional jazz pianists seeking to refine their skills. Lessons are personalised to match each student’s goals. Jazz becomes a medium for exploration and self-expression.

I teach piano by combining traditional classical training with modern technology. Lessons include synthesisers, DAWs, digital pianos, and basic recording skills. Students learn to create music that is expressive, polished, and technologically versatile.
We explore improvisation, sound design, and layering techniques. I guide The Classical Performer and The Child Prodigy in exploring electronic sounds. Lessons are tailored to student goals and skill levels.
