About Chu

Hi, I’m Chu! I help students raise their SAT, ACT, AP, and IB scores with a patient, results-driven approach. I scored a 1580 on the SAT, earned an IB diploma, and got 5’s on nine AP exams. I teach the strategies that helped me succeed, while tailoring lessons to your goals and needs - whether that means filling in content gaps or sharpening test-taking skills. With a problem-solving mindset from my background in math and programming, I focus on the areas that will make the biggest impact on your score. I'm excited to help you reach your full potential!

About the lesson

I like to start by understanding your strengths, challenges, and goals through discussion and diagnostic work.

We'll tackle problem areas with targeted strategies and practice - whether that means mastering subject content or sharpening test-taking skills.

I help students build problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategy skills that transfer across subjects and continue to serve them in college and beyond.

Lessons are collaborative: I explain concepts clearly, ask students to think out loud, and check in often to keep progress on track.

Perfect! Chu tutored our high school senior daughter for the SAT. Chu may not have the best resume but she’s very good in mathematics and English, and can help with test strategy as well. My daughter improved her score a lot in a short period of time. Chu is patient, enthusiastic, and flexible. She definitely is a great teacher, give her a try, you won’t regret it.
