About MAHNAZ

Hi! My name is Mahnaz, and I’m a high school student in Alberta with experience helping and tutoring students from Kindergarten to Grade 10.

I really enjoy helping younger students understand things that may seem confusing at first. I believe that every student learns differently, so I try to explain concepts in simple, clear ways and adjust my teaching style depending on what works best for the student.

I have experience helping younger students with schoolwork, including through volunteering, tutoring, and working with children. I also currently work as a coach, which has helped me become more patient, encouraging, and comfortable working with students of different ages and abilities.

I’m not a certified teacher, but I take tutoring seriously and always try my best to make sure the student understands the material rather than simply giving them the answer.

My Teaching Style

My goal isn't just to help students finish their homework — I want them to actually understand **why** something works.

During a lesson, I can:

1. Go over what the student is currently learning.
2. Identify anything they are struggling with.
3. Explain the concept step-by-step in simple language.
4. Work through examples together.
5. Give the student practice questions.
6. Review their mistakes and explain how to improve.
7. Make sure they feel comfortable asking questions.

I’m patient and I won't make a student feel bad for not understanding something. It's completely okay to ask the same question more than once!

Who I Tutor

I mainly work with students in **Kindergarten through Grade 10**.

I’m especially comfortable helping students who need extra support with their homework, want to improve their understanding of a subject, or need someone to explain a topic in a different way.

Lessons

I’m available for **online tutoring**, and I can work with students using video calls and screen sharing so we can go through questions together.

I’m flexible and can adjust lessons depending on the student's needs. Some students may need help with one specific topic, while others may want regular weekly tutoring.
