About Ellis

With 12 years of tutoring experience, I teach Piano to school students, college students, and working professionals. I enjoy helping learners develop their musical abilities while creating a positive and comfortable learning environment.

My teaching philosophy is simple: understand the student, build the right foundation, and progress step by step. I do not believe in rushing students through lessons. Instead, I make sure they understand important skills before moving to more challenging topics.

I teach piano fundamentals, scales, chords, rhythm, finger coordination, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song practice, improvisation, and performance preparation. I use simple English, clear demonstrations, and practical exercises to explain concepts.

I believe communication is very important. I encourage students to tell me what they find difficult and what they enjoy learning. This helps me adjust lessons and keep them motivated. I also provide constructive feedback so learners know exactly where they can improve.

Regular practice is an important part of my approach. I help students develop routines that fit their daily lives and teach them how to practice effectively. I understand that working professionals may have limited time, while school and college students have other responsibilities.

A notable achievement of my nine-year career is teaching learners from different age groups, backgrounds, and skill levels. These experiences have helped me become adaptable, patient, and confident in supporting different learning needs.

My goal is to help students become independent musicians who can enjoy playing, understand music, and continue improving even outside the lesson. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, I provide personalized support to help you reach your musical goals.

My piano teaching approach is built around Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe students achieve better results when their lessons are connected to their personal goals. Whether a learner wants to play for enjoyment, improve technique, prepare for performances, or understand music more deeply, I adapt my teaching accordingly.

I begin by discussing the student's experience and goals. I then create a step-by-step learning plan that includes piano technique, music reading, rhythm, scales, chords, ear training, and song practice. I make sure that technical exercises are connected to practical playing.

I adapt my teaching methods to suit different learners. I may use demonstrations, written examples, listening exercises, repetition, or hands-on practice depending on what works best for the student. I also explain difficult musical ideas in simple language.

Flexibility allows me to change the lesson plan whenever the student's needs change. I can provide extra practice for challenging topics or introduce new material when the student is ready. Collaboration gives students an active role in choosing songs and setting achievable learning goals.

I use a positive approach to help students stay motivated. I encourage them to see mistakes as part of learning and recognize their progress over time. My feedback is clear, supportive, and focused on practical improvement.

In addition to piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard skills, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm, chords, basic composition, and music appreciation.

My goal is to create a learning journey where students understand what they are playing, enjoy their practice, and gradually become confident and independent pianists.
