Methodology
My teaching method is a general assessment of where a child is at within the subject to meet a child where they are. From there we can determine the best course of action to understand the best approach to take so that a child can fully grasp the concept, and possibly even use the tools learned to be able to teach themselves independently. I don't want to just teach a child a subject, I want to teach them to be a good student! It's all about working smarter, although hard work is vital in the success of a student. The ultimate goal is to get to a point where a child can be their own tutor.
Background
This will be my first time in the tutoring business, but I have great faith in myself and you! I have excelled in academics, the arts, and student government while working a part-time job. I understand how hard it can be to balance multiple things at once and still get the grades you are striving towards. The good news is, I'm here to help! I enjoy math in general, specifically Algebra. I love English as well and even scored a 36 on both the reading and English portions of the ACT (for an overall score of 32). I would love to share some of the techniques I use for standardized testing in general. As a recent high school graduate, I have been where you are and am here to help you learn not only your subject but also how to navigate academics in general. Whether you're an elementary, middle, or highschool student, I believe I can help!
