About Iola
Teaching provides the framework for me to examine the fundamental architecture of music. I hold a MMus in Violin from the Yale School of Music, 2010. My home studio in Nashville serves students ranging from 4-year-old beginners to high-schoolers preparing for college auditions.
I focus on double stops, sight reading, and refined spiccato or staccato bowing. We work on classical repertoire, scales, arpeggios, and shifting positions alongside ear training and tuning. You will build a technical foundation that allows your musical voice to emerge clearly.
