Personal tutor for all levels of reading and writing skills

Methodology

I am a Missouri certificated Reading Specialist K-12. I taught elementary school over 20 yrs and College level reading skills (St. Louis Community College) for 16 years. Moreover, I authored a textbook for the University of Missouri Extension Center as well as publishing over 900 articles for the former St. Louis Globe Democrat. My students have found me fair, knowledgeable and pleasant. They have also found me respectful and kind. It is always a pleasure to work with those interested in improving his/her academic reading and writing skills.

Background

I have been teaching for over 40 years with typically 20 or more students per class involving 6 to 7 classes per day. Moreover, I have given individual private lessons for eight years to over 20 students; since I have taught-for a variety of academic levels, I am skilled with knowing where and how a students' writing/reading can impact his/her academic success. One-on-one is usually more efficient than a class of 20+ students; one-on-one is preferable. My students have said they are able to write more efficiently, and comprehend reading more thoroughly. Moreover, the students have graduated with a minimum "C" and more likely a maximum of an "A."

Beverly's resume

I attended undergraduate school at Oklahoma Christian University, Edmond, OK. I earned my M.Ed. from the University of Missouri - St. Louis and continued for another few years for advanced academics in what Missouri labeled advanced reading and writing. Moreover, I wrote weekly articles for the former St. Louis Globe Democrat and then wrote a textbook for the University of Missouri Extension Center. Equally important, I taught for school districts, not only in Missouri, but also in Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Teachers usually do not earn awards for his/her academic accomplishments. However, I have enjoyed recognition from my colleagues and supervisors with regard to the my students' achievements.
