About Ali Abbas
I am an undergraduate Mathematics student at the University of Warwick with a strong interest in problem-solving, logical reasoning, and helping students build confidence in maths. I want to teach because I know that maths can feel overwhelming when it is explained too quickly or too abstractly, so I enjoy breaking difficult ideas into clear steps that students can actually understand. My approach is patient, visual, and exam-focused: I like using drawings, diagrams, real-life examples, and repeated practice with exam-style questions so that students understand both the method and how to apply it.
I have experience supporting different types of learners, including students who benefit from more visual explanations or need topics broken down more carefully. Alongside my mathematics background, I also have skills in programming, data analysis, financial analysis, and research, which help me explain maths in a practical and logical way. My aim is to make students feel comfortable asking questions, improve their technique, and help them leave each lesson feeling more capable than when they started.

My lessons are clear, patient, and personalised to each student’s needs. As a Mathematics student at the University of Warwick, I focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than just memorising methods. I like to use drawings, diagrams, real-life examples, and step-by-step explanations to make difficult topics feel more manageable. I also keep exam questions in mind throughout lessons, so students can build both understanding and confidence in applying their knowledge under exam conditions.
A typical lesson lasts around one hour, but this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs. My tutoring is suitable for school students who want support with Mathematics or similar subjects, whether they need help catching up, strengthening their foundations, or preparing for assessments. I also aim to make lessons accessible for different learning styles, including students with dyslexia, autism, or other needs, by breaking ideas down clearly and using visual explanations where helpful.
