About Emily
I am British born but grew up in Spain, so I am fluent in both languages and can express myself clearly to you or your child. I studied at a Spanish public school (IES Alta Axarquía) until high school, where I switched to the British School of Malaga. There, I continued my Spanish education alongside a British one and achieved my ESO certificate (the Secondary Education Award in the Spanish System, similar to GCSEs). I also achieved an A* in both my Spanish Second Language GCSE and A-Level. I am currently studying English Literature at university, but my modules include Spanish Translation. I have also professionally translated official business meetings in person.
I apply my skills in the English language, Spanish fluency and knowledge of language learning techniques to provide a comprehensive, step-by-step learning experience to help non-native speakers reach their goal of Spanish understanding and speaking. I hope to be of help to you!

My classes are aimed towards any non-fluent Speakers from KS3 to A-level, or anybody else wanting to learn!
I am flexible and my lessons are personalised. My free introductory session will be spent looking at issues that you struggle with, the exam board that you are working with and will be a general assessment of your level in Spanish. Subsequent lessons will be built around this. Generally, I will look at subject specific vocabulary, verbs, and at how to create fluent sentences. Each week, I will give you material to revise at home and will encourage independent study. I also have some good Spanish Show and book recommendations, to keep you learning at home!
I consider myself to be patient and approachable. I am a student myself so I know the struggles of learning and the pressures of school and work life. I will work with you, and will support you and guide you wherever you most need it. My lessons are safe, friendly spaces where you don’t have to be afraid to practice speaking Spanish. I’m not here to judge you!
