About Annette
My knowledge in the subject of mathematics has mainly been derived through my many years of experience teaching in the New York City Department of Education
My experience extended beyond just teaching math but also provided me the expertise in developing, planning, and executing math curriculum necessary in helping students overcome some of the many challenges encountered in a diverse and global community.
My many years of grading Math exams for the State allows me to have a better understanding of the Common Core math state Standards and the ability to better prepare students for their State exam in mathematics

As a Math teacher who has taught math to both Middle and High School students, my main approach when teaching math is to make all students feel comfortable in sharing the mathematical knowledge they already possess. To achieve this level of comfortability, the following approach is necessary for every math skill to be taught.
1. A detailed lesson plan geared towards the diverse needs of all students embodying the following elements
a. Use of crafted questions that pull information from students regardless of their culture or socioeconomic background
b. Remove the fear of math by making students aware that Math is more than a wrong or right answer but more on reasoning and problem solving
c. Have students ask themselves questions such as relating to information given and how they believe such information could be used to answer the required question
have my students devise different approaches to solve challenging math problems by providing them helpful mnemonics
