About Dalia
Dalia Levy (cello) was born in New York in 2005, a daughter of pianist Frank Levy.
She is currently a first year student at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and has studied the cello with Irene Sharp, Jihee Kim, Vicky Wang and her current teacher, Dmitry Kouzov. Dalia is a former member of the prestigious Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra performing under the baton of Ben Simon, Jory Fankuchen and Scott Krijnen. Previously, Dalia was also principal cellist with the Golden State Youth Orchestra.
Dalia is an avid chamber musician. She is a member of the Bay Area String Quartet coached by the violinist David Chernyavsky. She performed the Beethoven String Trio Op 3, and the Schubert Quartet No 9 at Cubberley Community Center in Palo Alto, California.
Every summer, Dalia participates in the C’est Bon Chamber Music Academy, where she has previously performed Dvorak Piano Quintet No 2 and Brahms Piano Quartet No 1.
Dalia has performed the Elgar Cello Concerto and the Saint Saens Cello Concerto at St Mark's Episcopal Church in Palo Alto, California.
Dalia loves teaching cello, and has been teaching since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, both online and in person. She is a teacher at QuaranTunes (an organization aimed at creating a community of musicians around the world who share their skills with young children ages 4-14). Dalia also maintains her own private studio where she currently teaches students ages 8-16.
