About Fernando
I have lived in Mexico my whole life except for my senior year when I took part in an international exchange program and graduated high school in Abbotsford, B.C.
I have lived in Mexico City, Torreón and Monterrey. I have also visited most of the country and I have had the opportunity to know other Spanish speaking countries and people from many different states, countries and contexts. For that reason, my Spanish accent is quite neutral and easy to understand.
I have always been in love with languages. I see them not just as a way to communicate but as a key to understanding the mindset of entire cultures, allowing people to see the world through totally new eyes.
I adore the idea of sharing a new pair of bright eyes through teaching Spanish efficiently. My previous encounters with radically different methods allow my teaching to bend and adapt to my students and not the other way around, just the way it should be.
My experience is quite varied. From participating in the tutoring of young kids, teaching them correct writing and spelling, to currently being involved as a Spanish tutor in an important regional project, organized by my university ITESM (Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education), to help high school students shorten the educational gap left by the COVID-19 pandemic.

My classes are totally personalized. I do not follow a single method or strategy to share the beauty of my language. Instead, I focus on my students’ strengths, interests, areas of opportunity as well as their short and long-term goals in order to provide a unique learning experience.
