I love to teach and help all students, whether you just need a brush-up on last year's algebra class to push yourself from a B to A or if you want an intensive review of chemistry for the SAT subject test. I am a tutor for students at or above the fourth grade. I also enjoy working with adults, so if you need a GRE prep tutor or help with college-level math or science courses, it would be great to work with you.
My teaching approaches are very personalized to my students. I have a broad range of interests outside academics, including dance, books, movies, food, and sports. I like to get to know my students so we can relate the subjects to your interests and make learning fun. I have a deep understanding of the challenges you face as a student- both inside and outside of the classroom, and am always happy to talk about ways that we can alleviate these challenges. For example, we can discuss techniques to overcome test anxiety, difficulty with core concepts, and balancing your studies with other activities.
Hi! I am a tutor who loves to help her students reach their potential with tailor-made lessons and motivational techniques. I have taught over 150 students over the past fifteen years, in both group and one-on-one settings, in subjects from middle school math to SAT prep and graduate-level biomedical engineering. I used to teach for Kaplan test prep, and have helped many students improve their SAT scores 200+ points. I have also helped high school students improve their grades (at least 1 letter grade) in chemistry, physics, pre-calculus, and AP BC calculus.
