About Aisha
My professional background of being a scientist allows me to bring biology to life by connecting classroom concepts to real-world practical examples. My industry experience gives students a unique perspective on how biology is used to develop new medicines and advance scientific research. I'm passionate about making lessons engaging, relevant and easy to understand, and I'm also happy to offer guidance on careers in biotechnology and pharmaceutical science. I have a BSc in Biochemistry and a Masters in Cancer Medicine from King's College London. I have worked across the Cambridge pharmaceutical and biotechnology landscape, including AstraZeneca as my first graduate role, and have also worked at start-up level, and within the charity sector. I am very passionate about mentorship and teaching, so I'd like to share my breadth of experience and inspire the next generation of academics.
I have a gentle and reassuring nature which creates a calm atmosphere in lessons. I am however fiercely passionate about helping students get their best grades to fulfil their potential, so my lessons are very thorough and I aim to provide students with the best resources possible.

My biology lessons are structured, interactive and tailored to each student. I teach all theory with clear explanations and diagrams, and combine this with student learning packs which students can follow during the lesson. I perform knowledge checks and quizzes before and after each session to help students solidify concepts and this also helps with memory. I also incorporate exam-style questions to build confidence and improve exam technique. I provide all students with a revision sheet post-lesson and a short homework task to complete before the next lesson. At the end of each module I also provide a checklist and a review of everything covered. All of these resources combined creates a dynamic way of learning.
Lessons can range from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours if needed. I can teach KS2, KS3, KS4 (GCSE) biology which is ages 7-16.
