About Brian
I recently finished my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Arizona. Since then, I've worked as a Data Analyst working on large and complex location datasets. I have many years of experience being the full instructor for college level courses as well as 8 years of experience as a private tutor. Since 2020, I have done my tutoring (and some teaching) 100% online with no hiccups. Apart from that, I've also worked with charter school systems to create lesson plans, proper testing material, and learning how to identify weak points.
While I have a love for mathematics, I particularly understand the real world implications of mathematics and how it can be used effectively. This allows me to draw parallels to real examples instead of creating fake scenarios that have no real-world implications. I believe understanding the potential use case is key for truly understanding mathematics -- regardless of the difficulty level.

Over the course of my tutoring and teaching career, I've had the pleasure of working with so many amazing students ranging from 5th graders all the way to senior college students. While many people can teach the mathematics or help with homework, I pride myself on being able to recognize and help fix problem areas which can often go unnoticed. In mathematics, so many students end up struggling because they have weak points in areas that they (and their teachers) don't even realize. Not only this, but I have ample experience with test creation and scoring. I work heavily with students to achieve the best results by first understanding their particular instructors teaching and testing style. It's not only about learning math -- it's learning how to learn.
