About Jesse
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a 4.0 GPA double-majoring in physics and mathematics, and I recently received my Master's degree in physics from the University of Colorado Boulder. I've been tutoring physics for 6 years, and I've been a teaching assistant for 2 years. In addition, I have lots of practical research experience, so I can advise students on career outcomes in physics. Outside of physics, I enjoy making ice cream, playing my saxophone, walking my corgi, and playing D&D.

Teaching Methods: - I use conversation-driven tutoring to elicit common physics misconceptions and develop advanced problem-solving strategies Typical Lesson Plan: - Warm up with a practice problem and discussion of previous week's material - Decide what to focus on for the day's lesson - Collaborate on problems with lots of discussion about different approaches and why they work for a given problem - I emphasize role reversal so the student will instruct how to solve a problem. This instills confidence and self-reliance. What Sets Me Apart: - Advanced knowledge of state-of-the-art physics education practices - Practical research experience in high-energy particle physics, atomic physics, and physics education research Who Do I Tutor: - High school students in an AP or IB physics course - Undergraduate students in most physics courses (upper-level courses are taken on a case-by-case basis)

Jesse was wonderful! He helped me through Physics 2 (intro E&M) over the course of a semester. He not only reinforced understanding of the material but also boosted my confidence and critical thinking skills. Highly recommend, you are guaranteed to do well in physics with his help!
