About Jovan
I am a self-employed, highly qualified tutor with a PhD in chemistry and a BSc in Physical Chemistry. I am offering over 15 years of successful experience in private tutoring for GCSE, IGCSE, A-level, AS, and IB students in mathematics, chemistry, and physics. In addition, I worked for several years as a postdoctoral research scientist at Queen Mary University of London and University College London (UCL). In both positions, the co-supervision of PhD and MSc students in chemistry was one of my main responsibilities

For over 15 years of tutoring A-level, AS, IB, GCSE, and KS3 students in maths, physics, and chemistry, I developed a range of teaching skills that made my work highly efficient and successful. I work either 1 or 2 hours per session, once or more times per week. Whether I work with students in person or online, I always start the lesson with a brief estimate of the students’ knowledge, needs and abilities. This estimate, along with my in-depth knowledge of the three subjects and the specifications of different exam boards, including AQA, OCR, and Edexcel, was a key factor in planning and organising future lessons. The main aims of these lessons were to make students understand better the main parts of each topic. Subsequently, the students’ interest in the subject increased significantly. I also developed strong communication skills, which proved to be essential for counselling and building mutual trust with students and for raising students’ self-confidence and enthusiasm for learning and success. I feel comfortable in a multicultural environment and have experience working with students who have special needs.
