About Matthew
Hello!
My name is Matthew Fraund and I am a doctorate-level chemist who has been teaching and tutoring students just like you ever since I was in college myself. This amounts to over 10 years (and counting) involved in the teaching process.
I love to help students learn and I am as patient of a professor as you could hope to find. There are no dumb questions, no annoying questions, no need to ever say sorry you didn't get something the first time around.
If you've ever been stressed having to go to office hours because you were confused and were worried you didn't want to bother them, let me take all of those concerns away now. Let's figure it out together!
~Matthew

I can do two different types of lessons:
1) Help with specific problems or questions.
These types of lessons start with a project or report or problem that you need to do. We work on it together and brainstorm ways to solve the problem. Then I love to organically add little lessons or reminders about how to do these problems in the future.
(This is great when you have to study for an exam or have a lab report due!)
2) A more holistic teaching approach where I make a lesson plan for a topic or topics and we work through them across multiple sessions.
Because I am an experienced professor you can literally get a college-level class experience from me just by letting me know what you want to learn!
If I had to say anything about my teaching it is that I am unfailingly patient. You can ask the same question over again and it is a puzzle for me to solve, how to best arrive together at the answer and I am overjoyed when we get there! I love the process of seeing a student become interested in a topic!
I am most experienced with college-level classes but can easily cover AP level or high-school chemistry topics.
