About Bhavana

Awarded best teaching assistant of 2024! I am a PhD student at uOttawa, currently developing an amide linchpin reagent. I have been studying chemistry for the last 8 years and teaching as a TA for the last 6. I love helping pre-med students build a solid understanding of organic chemistry and set them up for success.

About the lesson

Failing CHM 1321/2120?

Here's the thing: Orgo chem is mandatory for Pre-Med and it's notoriously hard. It doesn't help that even after going to lectures, you're still not doing well.

Chem lectures are:
- Too quickly taught
- Not detailed enough
- Hard to teach to yourself

Don't worry, I've been there. I've been studying Orgo for the 8+ years and I know firsthand how difficult CHM1321 can be.

This is why I help Pre-Med students pass with an 80+ every year by:
- Going slide by slide and annotating with knowledge you may not learn in class
- Teaching effective studying strategies
- Completing problem sets with you and correcting others that you will do alongside me
- Equivalent to a DGD, except with a one-on-one advantage!

Excellent! Bhavana is an amazing tutor; she is very patient and explains the material in the best way the tutee will understand. She gives a precise explanation and uses the terminology seen in class to enhance the tutee's understanding and familiarity, which helped me be better prepared for any type of examination. Along with walking through practice problems and she made sure I understood how to properly analyze the problems which is the best way to learn. She has made learning Orgo 1 an enjoyable experience!

I was having a pretty rough time with stereochemistry in CHEM1321. Bhavana did a great job of breaking it down for me in simple terms. Just got my exam back, A! Thanks Bhavana
