About Arne
As a final-year civil engineering student at Ghent University, I have developed a profound passion for science and technology. My interest in these fields arose during my high school years, where I followed the Science-Mathematics program with 6 hours of mathematics per week. This solid foundation has not only helped me to further expand my knowledge and skills, but also to excel in my current studies and start a PhD next year.

Teaching techniques and methods:
As a final-year civil engineering student, I use a structured and interactive teaching method. I start by identifying the student's specific needs and learning goals. I then adapt my explanation to the student's level and prior knowledge, and use visual aids and practical examples to make complex concepts understandable. I strongly believe in active participation and encourage students to ask questions and actively think along.
A typical lesson sequence:
Each lesson starts with a short review of the previous session to consolidate knowledge. We then discuss the new material, where I explain step by step and leave room for questions. We do exercises together to put theory into practice. At the end of the lesson I make a short summary and provide homework to further practice the topics covered.
Specific skills as a teacher:
I have strong analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of mathematics and physics. My communication skills allow me to convey complex concepts in a simple and understandable way. I am patient, empathetic and able to create a supportive and motivating learning environment.
