About Oisin
I am a cognitive scientist researching numerical cognition: the science of how people think about maths and numbers. My previous research concerned maths anxiety, and how to alleviate it to improve learning outcomes.
I have a masters in Cognitive Science, and a masters in Mathematics, both from UC San Diego. I studied Maths in TCD for my undergrad, and got A1s in Maths, Applied Maths, Physics, Chemistry, DCG, and English in my leaving.
I have years of experience of one-on-one and group tutoring, and ran the Voluntary Tuition Programme in Trinity for 3 years, providing free grinds for over 400 students each year. During my PhD I lectured, gave tutorials and grinds, in maths, cognitive science, and data science, both in person and online. I have also provided tutoring for adults returning to education.

From my research in numerical cognition and maths anxiety I have a range of methods for working with students no matter their previous knowledge or experience.
I can offer 1-1 grinds, online or in person, and group sessions. I primarily teach junior and leaving cert students, however in certain subjects I can teach third level, or work with younger children looking to develop or catch up.
My typical lessons are 1.5hrs, but can be shortened or lengthened as necessary.
