About Hemal
I am currently a PhD student in Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, with over 20 years of experience teaching Mathematics and Physics. I have taught students from secondary level through A-Level and university admission preparation, both in person and online.
I can help with GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics, whether you are looking to strengthen your fundamentals, prepare for exams, or tackle challenging topics with more confidence. My teaching focuses on understanding concepts and developing problem-solving skills rather than simply memorising formulae.
Over the years, I have taught more than 250 A-Level students, mentored students for Physics Olympiad competitions, and coached over 120 students for highly competitive engineering university admissions in Bangladesh. I have also been recognised as a Best Mathematics Teacher.
I am friendly, patient and easy-going, and I adapt my lessons to suit each student's learning style and goals. My typical lessons are 60 minutes, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, work through problems and build confidence.
I currently offer lessons in Glasgow as well as online, so I can help students wherever they are. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic or aiming for excellent exam results, I'd be happy to work with you and develop a learning plan that suits your needs.

My approach is tailored to each student individually. I believe everyone learns differently, so I aim to create a comfortable and supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and improving.
I am patient and enjoy finding simple, clear ways to explain difficult concepts. Rather than encouraging students to memorise formulae, I focus on helping them understand the ideas behind them and develop strong problem-solving skills.
Whether you need help with a specific topic, want to prepare for an exam, or simply want to build your confidence in Maths or Physics, I will adapt each lesson to your needs and goals.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, and I offer both in-person lessons in Glasgow and online sessions. Please get in touch and we can have a chat about how I can help!
