About Ankur
Who You Are:
I am a professional scientist specializing in bioinformatics. Over my career, I’ve worked with major companies in genomics to help analyze complex biological data. Because I use math, chemistry, and biology every single day to solve real-world problems, I have a deep appreciation for the core fundamentals taught in school. Outside of the lab and my computer screens, I am a father, an active volunteer in community science projects, and someone who loves blending art with technology.
Why I Wish to Teach:
I want to show students that math and science are not just intimidating lists of formulas to memorize—they are incredible tools we use to understand the world around us. I wish to teach because I love that "lightbulb" moment when a difficult concept finally clicks for a student. My goal is to take the frustration out of tricky subjects like statistics and biochemistry, breaking them down into simple, relatable pieces that build a student's confidence and spark their curiosity.

My teaching philosophy centers on bridging the gap between foundational theory and real-world application. I believe that students learn best when they can connect abstract concepts to practical, industry-standard scenarios.
Iterative Learning: I structure lessons around a build-and-test methodology. We break down complex problems into manageable, logical components, ensuring foundational understanding before scaling up to advanced topics.
Real-World Context: I go beyond the textbook by introducing current industry practices, teaching students not just how to solve a problem, but how to architect a solution that is robust and efficient.
Fostering Independence: My ultimate goal is to equip students with critical computational and systems-thinking skills, empowering them to troubleshoot, research, and evaluate their own work independently
