About Matthew
Hi there! My name is Matt, and I can offer tutoring in Physics and Maths up to A-Level.
I recently graduated from Cambridge University with a PhD in Material Sciences and I currently teach Physics and Maths at an outstanding secondary school.
At Cambridge, I supervised undergraduate students in Natural Sciences for 3 years, and was awarded the Demonstrator of the Year prize.

For Maths, my methodology is based around the "I do, we do, you do" principle, which involves me showing you how to solve a problem, before we work through one together, which will give you the confidence to tackle further problems on your own. This will be supplemented with ongoing Assessment for Learning (AfL) in the form of rigorous past paper style questions.
In physics, I feel it is important to first have a grasp of how each principle being taught is applicable to phenomena we observe in the world around us. We will begin each topic with an open-ended discussion of what aspect of the subject interests us, followed by an in-depth analysis of the type of question that may be asked on the exam.
