About Gap

I am an international student currently finishing my PhD. I taught 100 to 400 level Psychology lab in the university of Otago, and I plan to continue teaching in the future.

Before I started university (2016), I taught a group of students in my school who were about to fail their classes. Those students, in their teacher's eyes, were a lost cause. I requested that the teacher personally tutor me, to which the teacher promptly agreed. Their grade went up from a D to a B+, an astounding improvement for someone consistently getting very low marks.

My personal enjoyment is seeing people understand something they have been stuck on for a long time. It just makes me happy to see people having a moment of realisation or insight into something they could not achieve by themselves.

About the lesson

For undergrad level (100 and 200 level Psychology), I will go through each aspect of psychology topics you bring up step-by-step. Understanding the topic's fundamental idea and how it can be applied. My teaching style is more conversational than a lecture, I will treat you more like a friend than a student, yet I will ensure you have the necessary understanding of the concept before moving on.

I encourage discussions and evaluation of self-understanding; no one knows whether you understand or not better than yourself. There is no such thing as a stupid question.

My lesson can last one or two hours, depending on your need. We can discuss this before beginning class.

Note on my response time: I signed up for superprof, got busy, and stopped teaching for a while, but I forgot to disable it! I respond faster than a day don't worry, haha.

You can choose to learn online or at my office. Both are fine! Although I prefer the office since it is easier to talk with an actual person there!
